Over all my thoughts on the book were good, actually great. To me the hardest part to read was the last part at the graduation when they were talking about the people involved deeply in the shooting. Nick was even included. The one thing I liked the most about the book was Valerie was looking back on her and nick and he brought her that cd with all the songs that reminded him of her and gave it to her. That boy got game, I literally highlighted that in my book because I swear I’m going to do that one of these days. One thing I didn’t expect at all was her and all her enemies before to become friends then her old friends kind of faded away from her. I know the feeling of how that is so I felt her pain when it came to losing her friends but life goes on. And she continued moving forward with her life which I was happy to see her making progress with. For a second I didn’t think she was going to make but I knew she would cause all stories have a good ending. For this being like one of the first books I have ever read. Actually sitting down and reading. Not wanting to put it down when it got good. Also picturing some of the scenes happen in my head. I have to say the author did a good job with this novel. And I’m looking forward to reading my other book the second half of the semester
Excellent post, Jeraud. Yes, file away the idea of a mix CD for that special someone. It's a fabulous gift. And, if you want sweet extra brownie points, you could accompany it with personalized CD liner notes. :)
